Harassment (General Guide)

You have a right to work in a harassment-free work environment.

An employer may never allow you to be harassed with your sex (including sexual harassment), race, religion, age, disability, national origin and other protected classes, as a factor in the harassment.

This means your employer may never allow a hostile, intimidating or abusive work environment.

Is your work environment hostile, intimidating or abusive? Is one factor:

  1. sex,
  2. sexual harassment (including sexual comments, touching or demands),
  3. race,
  4. religion,
  5. age,
  6. disability, or
  7. national origin?

If so, you are entitled to enforce your rights. And, in some cases, your Employer may require you to report the unlawful conduct.

Please know that this is a guide and not a complete list. Please also know that each case is unique which is why it is so important for you to immediately contact a professional.

If you feel you were mistreated in any way because of your sex, race, religion, age, disability or national origin, please contact us immediately for a no-charge, no-commitment consultation. Our toll-free number is 1-800-578-HELP (4357).
