Who We Are

Listed below are the primary attorneys that work for our law firm.  Other attorneys work with or on behalf of our law firm on a case by case basis.

Paul A. Bullman, Attorney

Paul has served as the lead trial attorney for multiple jury trials involving discrimination, harassment and retaliation. He actively represents clients from the pre-lawsuit stage through trial through appeal.

Paul is active in various professional organizations.  Paul is immediate Past President for NELA-KC.  NELA-KC is one of the largest and most active employment lawyers’ associations in the entire Midwest.  Paul is also a Sustaining Member for the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys.  Paul is also on the board of Eighth Circuit NELA which represents employment lawyers in seven states.

Paul actively advises elected legislators regarding employment laws including discrimination, harassment and retaliation laws.

Paul also has been selected to teach at continuing legal education events involving discrimination, harassment and retaliation, including a recent event involving over 70 attorneys.

Paul frequently travels the country to participate, assist in and speak at continuing legal education events involving jury trial practice.

Paul has been published by the Kansas City Star on the topic of discrimination, harassment and retaliation.

Paul earned a business degree and juris doctor (law degree) both from the University of Missouri. (Go Tigers!)

Paul is licensed to practice in all state courts in Missouri and Kansas, along with the federal court for the Western District of Missouri and the federal courts in Kansas and Nebraska. Paul is also a member of the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Paul is a member of Missouri bar, the Kansas bar, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and the Saint Joseph Bar Association.

Before law school, Paul supported himself through high school and college working a variety of jobs. Paul loaded and unloaded semi-trucks, stocked shelves, cleaned restrooms, delivered pizza and was a proud member the UFCW. After earning a business degree, but before law school, Paul was in management at a Fortune 500 corporation. The experiences in these variety of positions provides Paul with a unique perspective which he uses to assist clients in employment matters.

Paul is a seventh generation Missourian who has lived most of his life in Missouri.

Paul and his wife are proud parents and enjoy the company of their three pets, Nala, Reese and Ote.

Grant M. Freeman, Attorney (Of Counsel)

Grant, of counsel, is an attorney for our firm. His practice focuses on employment related issues including discrimination, harassment and retaliation under the Missouri Human Rights Act and federal law.

Grant is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association and other professional organizations. Grant is also a military veteran. His service as a corpsman in the United States Navy from 2010-2015 included a deployment to Afghanistan as a member of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Before law school and serving in the United States Navy, Grant worked a variety of jobs including as a land surveyor, retail salesman and forklift operator loading and unloading semitrailers. Through his workplace experiences, Grant gained an appreciation of the issues that workers encounter at work and why it is important to stand up for workers’ rights in the face of unjust treatment.

Grant’s strongly held personal belief that every individual must be free to pursue gainful employment without the worry of discrimination, harassment and retaliation is why he chose to practice employment law for workers.

Grant earned his juris doctor (law degree) in 2007 from the University of Missouri – Columbia and his college degree in Human Resource Management from the University of Northern Iowa in 2001. He is admitted to the Missouri Bar.

Grant enjoys giving back and volunteering at his local veterans’ hospital.

Daniel E. Altis, Attorney

Daniel represents clients who have faced discrimination, harassment and retaliation under the Missouri Human Rights Act and federal law.

Daniel is a member of the National Employment Lawyers Association, both the national organization and local chapter.  Daniel is a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association.  Before joining our firm, Daniel served as a law clerk to the 16th Circuit Court of Jackson County, located in downtown Kansas City, Missouri.

Before becoming a lawyer, Daniel worked various jobs stocking shelves, waiting tables and canvassing neighborhoods and streets in support of campaigns to help working and poor people both at home and throughout the country.

Daniel is a fifth generation Missourian who comes from a union background.  Daniel earned his law degree from the University of Missouri- Kansas City.  Daniel earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg.

On the weekends, you can usually find him at the dog park with his chow mix.

Lori H. Reierson, Paralegal

Lori is a paralegal for the Bullman Law Firm / Attorney For Workers of Kansas City, Missouri. Lori joined our firm shortly after earning a degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City.
